"Young people are ready. Government decisions now more than ever are seriously affecting our future yet we still can't take part in the democratic process and have our say on them. It is fundementaly undemocratic when 16 year olds are capable and more engaged in politics than many adults".

"We are old enough to take a serious role in society yet we still are not allowed to help shape it. Young people can work and pay income tax and national insurance but still cannot vote. 16 year olds can even join the army! As the song "The Eve of Destruction" goes: "You're old enough to kill, but not for votin'". There is a flaw here at the centre of our democracy, we are not second class citizens, we deserve a say, we deserve the right to vote!"
