Unite, Britain and Ireland’s largest trade union with 1.5 million members has voted at is recent conference to join the coalition.

Sally Kosky Community, the National Officer for the Youth Workers  & Not for Profit Sector said   “I am proud that Unite the Union has democratically voted to support the Votes at 16 campaign and coalition. If you can vote at 15 within a political party and at 16 in trade union elections so why should public elections be any different? We know from our experiences in the workplace and through campaigning that 16 and 17 year olds are informed and passionate about the world they live in and are as capable of engaging in the democratic system as any other citizen.”
